The 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) was held at Pacifico in Yokohama from August 28th to 30th, 2019. We were responsible for official photographers of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
With “Towards Africa’s Advance！By its people, its technology and its innovation.” as the theme, approximately 10,000 people participated, including representatives of 53 African countries (42 of whom were country leaders), 52 development partner countries, 108 international and regional organizations, as well as representatives of public society from the private sector and NGOs.
FAO is a global specialized organization established by intergovernmental agreements in the fields of economics, society, culture, education, health, etc., and it has signed a partnership agreement with the Economic and Social Council with by approval of United Nations General Assembly.
We photographed Mr. Qu Dongyu, the new secretary general of FAO, for four days.
After the discourse of the conference, the “2019 Yokohama Declaration” was adopted at the closing ceremony on the 30th and the “2019 Yokohama Action Plan” was announced as an extension of it.
